Milano collection 2010
April 6th, 2010
The Milano collection 2010 was shown at the Salone Satellite part of Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milano from 14/4 to 19/4. My exhibition was made possible by the support from IASPIS

The Collection consists of:
Karusell, stackable stool
Laminated ash veneer, bent in two directions.
This is a conversation between contemporary design/manufacturing techniques and the magic of the old masters like Eames, Bruno Mathsson and Alvar Alto. The stool is light and will stack as high as you dare.
Vase, clothes hanger
Cast iron base, solid ash stems.
Cast iron has an air of mysticism about it. The golden glow from the melted iron poured into the mould sets our fantasy in motion. The weight of the cast iron base makes for a slim footprint and the hanger becomes a beautiful sculpture even when there’s nothing hanging from it.
Wedge, barstool, stool & side table
Solid ash.
In the old days one had only what was available in the absolute proximity of the homestead. The limitations often inspired people to find ingenious simple solutions to difficult problems. One of my absolute favourite joining techniques is the dovetail joint. No nails, no plugs, only two pieces of wood carefully crafted and wedged together leaving a stunningly beautiful detail to be seen.
